The 2nd Guangzhou Nansha International Sailing Regatta 2018 was officially opened today, welcoming over 40 sailors from 7 countries worldwide to the Nansha Marina in Guangzhou for three days of competition.
The event is organised by the Asian Sailing Federation, Chinese Yachting Association and the Government of Guangzhou and Nansha Administration and is aimed to showcase Nansha, China as one of China’s upcoming venues for competitive sailing. China already enjoys a strong reputation for success in the sport on the world stage, whilst consistent efforts from contributing organisations ensure the future of sailing in China continues to make a positive contribution to the country.
Addressing the large gathering of dignitaries and people present at the opening ceremony, Mr Fok said, “On behalf of the people of Nansha City, I would like to extend a warm welcome to the sailors, team leaders and Race Officials.
