
ASAF ATO Clinics – Kedah, Malaysia
The Asian Sailing Federation Jury and Race Management Clinics were held at the National Sailing Training Centre, Kedah, Malaysia from 9th to 16th February 2025.
Mr. Selvam Mookken, International Judge from Singapore was the clinic instructor for the Jury clinic and Mr. Mohd Afendy Abdullah & Mr. Chandra Shekar Dalai, International Race Officers from Malaysia and India respectively, were the clinic instructors for the Race management clinic.
Jury Clinic
8 participants attended the Clinic.
The clinic covered introduction to judging, layout of the Racing Rules of Sailing 2025 – 2028 (RRS) Hearing Procedures (Part 5 Protests, Redress, Hearings, Misconduct and Appeals)
The implementation of the clinic syllabus was held in two stages, namely theory and practical training. The participants were also tested on their skills by undergoing a test at the end of the course.
Race Management Clinic
25 participants attended the Clinic.
The clinic covered authority and responsibilities of the race management committee race office organization, race committee vessels, facilities and infrastructure vessels and equipment, race Documents (NOR, SI, Class Rules) & Visual Signals & Flags and the competition format.
A test was administered to the partcipants at the end of the clinic.
All participants were given a certificate of participation.
