Following the Expression of Interest received from our MNAs to host Clinics.
With the valuable support and guidance of the ASAF Technical Committee we are pleased to announce that the first Asian Sailing Federation (ASAF) Asian Technical Officials (ATO) Jury clinic was held in Iran at the Bushehr Port and Maritime Organization Training Centre from 19th to 21st July’24.
The clinic is the first among many clinics which are scheduled to be held in the coming months with a view to further upskilling Asian Technical Officials so that they gain the necessary expertise by obtaining knowledge from experienced instructors that will help them to qualify and officiate at international level events.
There were a total of 30 participants in attendance and included sailors from different classes such as Windsurfing, Kite boarding, Kite foiling, ILCA, Hobie 16 and coaches of the Optimist class
The topics covered gave an understanding to participants regarding the role and requirements to be a judge, improved knowledge of the rules and brief on Race Management as well, they were shown videos for better understanding.
The clinic also covered practical sessions.
Clinic Instructor Mr. Leonard Chin (International Judge) expressed his happiness and gratitude to the organizers and wished all participants the very best for their future.
Attendees were handed out certificates at the end of the clinic after an assessment.
