The Asian Sailing Championships concluded successfully yesterday 6th March ‘22 at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club.

The event was witness to some great racing and sailing prowess shown on the waters.

Congratulations to all the Participants and Winners and all the Officials and Support staff for conducting a seamless event.

In his address, Dr. Malav Shroff President of the Asian Sailing Federation (ASAF), mentioned that the competition during the Championships was very high as the participants included Sailors who had competed at the Tokyo Olympics and won.

With 18 countries participating it was indeed a great event. Mentioning UAE as a country with a good coastline and favorable weather conditions, President ASAF urged youngsters to take up the sport, as they had the capability of achieving success at the highest levels.

President ASAF also stated that the sport of Sailing should be promoted in schools since it was traditional in this part of the world.

A big thank you to the UAE Sailing & Rowing Federation and Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club for hosting this event and setting a benchmark for the events to be hosted during the year.
