Due to a last minute withdrawal, the organisors of California Insurance annual Match Racing Series, the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (RHKYC) are opening up the invitations once again. The RHKYC Match Racing Series includes the National Championship (16 to 17 April 2016) and International Match Racing Regatta (22 to 24 April 2016). Please request an invitation by return email or to matchracing@rhkyc.org.hk (or Fax +852 2239 0364) by no later than 2 April 2016.

The Match Racing International Regatta features top overseas skippers, together with the top four Hong Kong match racing teams from the National Championship.

Training days and racing is held in the iconic Victoria Harbour, which is a spectacular venue for the sailors and spectators alike.

Current world #1 match racing skipper, Ian Williams from Great Britain has participated in this event on two occasions in the past and said, “The (RHKYC) Match Racing Series is a top level international event with some of the best match racers in the World competing. The racing takes place in Victoria Harbour which is a tricky venue but perfect for spectators to see the racing up close. The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club is a very welcoming host and all the teams enjoy coming to the regatta.”

The Series had a distinctively Asian ‘flavour’ in 2015, with current world #13 Maximillan Soh from Singapore defeating Jeremy Koo from Malaysia in the Final.
