The deadline for the final entries to the 2020 ASAF Asian Sailing Championship (Olympic Qualifier for 49er, Laser Standard, Laser Radial, RS:X Men and Women) and the EGM / AGM of the ASAF is approaching.
In the light of the existing situation with COVID-19, it is for you to determine the potential risks for your athletes’ health in travelling and coming in contact with citizens of different countries. As a result of the existence of already introduced restrictions, operational measures undertaken by governments and dynamics of the virus, the ASAF recommends you deliberate in making travel arrangements.
Please be advised that there is currently no restriction on any foreign nationals In traveling to UAE because of the Covid-19 situation. All the planned meetings & sailing events organised by ASAF shall go ahead as planned and every individual who is attending the meetings or sailing competitions should monitor their health closely upon arrival at the event venue by taking daily body temperature & watch out for symptoms of having caught the virus – fever, dry cough or difficulty in breathing – and see a doctor immediately if they have any of such symptoms.
The participants are advised to be more aware of their personal hygiene. We will also liaise closely with the hotel management & monitor the standard of hygiene & housekeeping at the official hotel for the duration of our events. The ASAF is continuously monitoring the situation and desires to avoid any risk and we will continue updating you on regular basis of situations related to the 2020 ASAF Asian Sailing Championship (Olympic Qualifier for 49er, Laser Standard, Laser Radial, RS:X Men and Women) and the EGM and AGM of the ASAF.
Of course, each Member Federation that has athletes registered to participate is free to make any decisions on their trip to Abu Dhabi and participation in the competition and meetings.
